Electrical System Installation

Low-voltage (≤1 kV) shipboard electrical system installation following IEC 60092 standards and class society requirements. We handle new construction projects and retrofit scopes with controlled installation methodology.

Electrical System Installation

Overview

Electrical system installation on board ships requires engineering discipline, not just connection work. Every feeder, route, support point, and interface must be considered within the larger vessel architecture to ensure safe operation, maintainability, and compliance.

Installation Philosophy

VI MARINE approaches electrical installation as a controlled engineering activity. Route planning, segregation, fixing, penetration management, and access strategy are defined before execution starts. This structured approach reduces rework, prevents uncontrolled routing decisions, and improves both inspection readiness and operational reliability.

IEC 60092 Series compliant installation methods
Low-voltage (≤1 kV) power distribution systems
Equipment, system, and panel interconnections
Cable pulling, routing, and termination with controlled methodology
Integration with existing electrical architecture during retrofit
Ship electrical cable installation work
Shipboard low-voltage installation must be planned around route logic, access, and long-term maintainability.

Quality Control & Testing

All installations are executed through defined quality control points and verified through testing. IR (insulation resistance), continuity, and functional testing are performed with documented results. This ensures the installation meets both operational requirements and class society survey expectations.

Insulation resistance (IR) testing
Continuity verification
Functional testing where applicable
Documentation of test results for class records

Retrofit vs. New Construction

For new construction, we follow the full installation cycle from routing planning to commissioning. For retrofit projects, we work within existing vessel constraints, coordinating with shipyard schedules, managing congestion, and preserving original system logic while upgrading electrical infrastructure.
